Common questions
›Is cropping the same as redacting?
No — and this matters for sensitive documents. Cropping hides the area outside the crop box, but the underlying content is still present in the file and can be restored by uncropping. Never use a crop to hide confidential information — use the Redact PDF tool, which permanently removes the content, instead.
›Can I crop each page differently?
Yes — per-page mode gives every page its own crop handles (available for documents up to 10 pages, where per-page cropping is practical to do by hand).
›Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — the file is opened, processed, and saved on your own device. There is no upload in the code path, which you can verify by watching the network tab, or by loading the page and then switching to airplane mode: the tool still works.
