Common questions

How is this different from PDF to images?

PDF to images renders whole pages as pictures — text, margins, everything. Extract images pulls out the actual photo and graphic files embedded inside the PDF, at their original stored resolution, with nothing else around them.

Why did some images come out once when they appear on many pages?

A logo or header image that repeats across pages is stored once inside the PDF and reused — so it extracts once. That's the file the PDF actually contains, not a copy per page.

Why did my PDF produce no images?

The pages are probably text and vector graphics (lines, shapes, fonts) — those aren't images and can't be extracted as such. If you want pictures of the pages themselves, use the PDF to images tool instead.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — the file is opened, processed, and saved on your own device. There is no upload in the code path, which you can verify by watching the network tab, or by loading the page and then switching to airplane mode: the tool still works.
