Common questions

Why add page numbers to a PDF instead of in my editor?

Often the source file is gone — you only have the PDF (a scan, an export, a merge of several documents). Stamping numbers onto the PDF itself is the only option, and it's what this tool does.

Do the numbers survive printing and forwarding?

Yes — they're drawn into the page content itself, not an overlay, so they appear everywhere the PDF does: on paper, in previews, on any device.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — the file is opened, processed, and saved on your own device. There is no upload in the code path, which you can verify by watching the network tab, or by loading the page and then switching to airplane mode: the tool still works.
